I Technical Conference on Stevia

On last Friday, March 6 took place in Torre del Mar (Malaga) the I Technical Conference on STEVIA in industry, as promoted by APYCSA. Numerous organizations such as the University of Malaga, the Public Administration of Málaga, Deretil Vitatech, public and private companies have collaborated in it.

The event, aimed at companies and entrepreneurs interested in the cultivation and processing of STEVIA, was a very good opportunity to learn about the trending topics related to this plant, which is being cultivated in Andalusia as a good alternative to other crop farming. The meeting included several conferences about technical, legal and financial issues.

Deretil Vitatech was invited to inform the attendees about technical and legal aspects of crucial importance when betting on the cultivation of the Stevia rebaudiana plant. The conference presented by Deretil Vitatech’s technicians was splitted into the following subjects:/p>

  • Historical milestones
  • Components of STEVIA and its functionality
  • Industrial use of STEVIA within the European legal framework
  • Industrial production of the sweetener
  • Applications of STEVIA in food, health, cosmetics, pharmaceutics and agriculture

As a result of the great acceptance that had the conference and as required by the attendees, Deretil Vitatech offered technical advice to all companies or entrepreneurs who decide to bet on this cultivation in progress, which currently comes up as a new business opportunity.
